Hopefully this is the last installment of monthly belly photos. I’m due tomorrow, so she should be here within the next week or two. And then this blog will be swamped with photos of the baby, not the belly!
I finished my last final this morning (and Bret finished on Saturday), so now we’re done with school. Until she comes, I really have nothing I need to do. Which is refreshing. (There are a lot of things I’ve been wanting to do, but haven’t had time, so don’t worry, I’m not just sitting around my apartment waiting.)
As far as pregnancy goes, there’s really not much to report. Things are just about the same as they’ve been for months. Honestly, I could probably be pregnant for a lot longer and physically do just fine. I haven’t reached the I-can’t-sleep-move-get-comfortable-or-do-anything stage, and I really don’t plan on ever reaching it. The only thing that is making me miserable is all the filthy pollen floating around.
It’s hard to tell, but if you look at the 39-week photo my belly is a little lower and less spherical. She’s sinking! I can still walk normally, but my hips and pelvic area definitely can tell someone is invading their space after a long active day.
She’s coming soon.
We’re excited.
Only three more days left! And finals are going to be easy-peasy.
Last night (01/12/2011) we went on a quick grocery run to get some grapefruit and chicken. As we walked into the store, Bret seemed to instantly gravitate towards the donuts. Luckily, the grapefruit stopped him, and we were able to continue our shopping without donuts. We went looking for chicken, and on the way passed freezers full of ice cream.
b: “Tearsa, we need ice cream!”
t: “No we don’t.”
b: “Yes, you need ice cream! How have you forgotten this? Oh, never mind. It’s cheaper at Smiths. We’ll just get it there later.”
A few minutes later as we were getting ready to leave….
b: “Tearsa, I just want to look at something real quick.”
Right, you just want to look. Regardless of my apprehension, I followed–straight to the donuts.
b: “Which one would you like Tearsa?”
t: “I don’t want one.”
b: “But you need one!”
t: “No, if you want one, you can have one, but none for me.”
b: “Oh fine, let’s go. I’m not going to get one without you. But we could get some Starburst…”
t: “No.”
When we got home:
b: “I want a treat…can we make cookies?”
t: “Sure, make some cookies.”
The next morning:
b: “Yay, we have treats to bring to school today! Delicious cookies! How many do you want, Tearsa?”
t: “Just one.”
b: “You can’t have just one! You need at least two.”
Bret then hands me a bag with three cookies in it.
t: “Fine, I’ll have two. But I can’t take three or I’ll eat them all.”
b: “Exactly, you need them Tearsa!”
I put one of the cookies back.
I married a sugar monster. and no, I don’t have perfect self-control.
…officially began forever ago, but just in case you weren’t aware, there are only 16 more school days left!
Time is going by ridiculously quickly. Before I know it, I’ll be counting down the weeks until my great-granddaughter is born! We have been really blessed with this pregnancy. I’m getting bigger, but honestly I’m not that big. I can still do practically everything, and I’ve been feeling pretty good. At the very least, I feel lots better now than when I first got pregnant. Even my back has been feeling better than it did a month ago. (Which doesn’t make sense…maybe Bret is just getting better at popping it?
) The heartburn is getting worse, but that’s about it. Oh…I do have some trouble walking after I’ve been sitting for forever (classes), but after a few steps my bones/muscles/whatever realign and I’m back to normal.
I picked up a 15 lb. bag of potatoes a few days ago, and I realized that right now I’m carrying around even more than that all the time. How is that even possible? I don’t really feel like I’m carrying extra weight (thank goodness it gets put on slowly), and I really would have thought that I’d be struggling at this point (also thank goodness that my legs hold me up much more than my tiny arms do). Essentially, my body is way awesomer than I thought it was.
Not much else is new with the preg, other than I can tell she is getting bigger and bigger, and she now likes to push against my right hipbone. Whenever she is moving, my belly is constantly morphing into strange shapes, and I wonder if there ever are any people staring at it during a boring lecture. I would. ok, I do.
Here’s the dress that the last two posts have mentioned. Another free shirt put to good use. I added the little ruffle on the bottom to give it a little more oomph, although I think the tie in the back does that plenty well. I don’t know what the pattern people were thinking, but apparently they like big ties and bows. I made mine smaller, and I think it is still way too big. I might end up taking it out completely.
