Life has been pretty hectic recently. This is a super busy semester for both Bret and I (especially Bret), and it seems like all we have time to do anymore is go to school, eat, and sleep.
I’m in a few photography classes this semester, and for one of them, Bert and I are doing a semi-collaborative project. Technically I am doing all the work, but it should be obvious to everyone that there is no way I could do any of it without Bret (thus, semi-collaborative
). What we are doing is taking images of nebulas, galaxies, etc. with Bret’s sweet telescope system, and then comparing them to other, more earthly subjects. So far, this is what we’ve come up with:
Drey is going to get his mission call sometime this week. We’re super excited, and are really hoping he will go to India (at least Bret is). Here is his lovely mission photo, plus a leaf:
***Drey is going to the Washington D.C. South Mission, leaving March 9th!***
We are also going to have a baby! April 19th, which makes me 14 weeks along. We are both super excited (and nervous/scared). I haven’t been too terribly sick, and things are getting much better. Now as long as I consistently eat and get at least 9 hours of sleep each night, I feel almost normal.
bret and i went to my parent’s home for a few days last week in idaho. they have a huge garden (over an acre), and the fam decided to start selling their produce, since there is no way on earth they could eat that much garden. so they moved this little shed to the side of the driveway, and now sell food to people driving by:
there are two very large rows of zucchini:
they also have a lot of chickens…
bret took this image last night from our living room! he is amazing and has set up a system to control a telescope in delta, utah from anywhere and have everything run automatically so he can still get some sleep!
last summer i organized all the recipes i had from my hs senior project, but i was having difficulty getting everything looking the way i wanted it to. i stumbled across the site again today, and i decided i would probably never fully finish it, so i should just share it as it is.
go here for williams recipes galore!
even though they are on my site, i don’t endorse every recipe. i do, however, really like:
- cranberry chicken
- gunpowder chicken
- raspberry cream jell-o (way better than just jello)
- poppy seed bread
- blueberry muffins
- caramels
- chex-almond stuff (this isn’t difficult to make, but it is really difficult to stop eating. really, it is evil. and so are the caramels.)
bret and i are planning on one day compiling all of our recipes and creating something similar but way better! hopefully that will happen in the nearish future
…this poor blog is so neglected. i was going to post something yesterday, but i couldn’t even remember what my password was anymore.
here is my intro to digital final portfolio. i’m not sure how i feel about it, but i do think it turned out much better than i thought it would a week ago
apparently i’m not good at balancing 100 million things. that’s why i haven’t posted anything here for awhile.
so here’s what i’ve been up to:
- school. i’m back in provo, and it’s great. except today it was really cold
- my apartment is a little ghetto, but i like some parts of it. like the large-ish living room.
- i’ve been doing a really good job with cooking. normally all i eat is pbj and ramen, but this year i’ve actually made meals. multiple times per week even. crazy, huh?
- i’m taking a black and white film class where we use really huge cameras that i fail at using. it’s really confusing and technical. hopefully once i start using the cameras more i’ll get the hang of it.
- the other photo class i’m taking is intro to digital. we had our first real assignment yesterday. (see image 1)
- it’s autumn. bret and i went somewhere into the mountainous area of provo last weekend and took pictures. it was glorious. (see images 2, 3, & 4)
- i went fishing, and i gutted a fish. true story. (see images 4 & 5)
